The World Health Day April, 7

The World Health Day is a global health awareness day which is celebrated every year on 7th of April, under the sponsorship of the World Health Organization (WHO) and other related organizations.

Back in 1948, the World Health Organization held the First World Health Assembly. The Assembly decided to celebrate 7 April of each year, with effect from 1950, as the World Health Day. The World Health Day is held to mark WHO's founding, and is seen as an opportunity by the organization to draw worldwide attention to a subject of major importance to global health each year. The WHO organizes international, regional and local events on the Day related to a particular theme. World Health Day is acknowledged by various governments and non-governmental organizations with interests in public health issues, who also organize activities and highlight their support in media reports, such as the Global Health Council.

World Health Day

The World Health Day is a good day to think about your mouth health. Taking good care of your mouth, teeth and gums is a worthy goal in and of itself. Good oral and dental hygiene can help not only to prevent bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease but also will help you to keep your teeth as you get older.

Understand the importance of oral health — and its connection to your overall health. A healthy mouth may help you ward off medical disorders. The flip side? An unhealthy mouth, especially if you have gum disease, may increase your risk of serious health problems such as heart attack, stroke, poorly controlled diabetes and preterm labor.
