The finished crown will closely resemble your original tooth in shape and color. In order to prepare for a crown, the original tooth is filed down to make room. Your dentist will work to ensure as much of the original tooth structure is preserved as possible. Once the tooth is fully prepared, the custom crown will be cemented into place.
